Centreville Public Schools

The Bulldogs’ season comes to a close with a 19-18-4 record. Going into districts, this team had built a lot of confidence. They’d been playing some of their most efficient volleyball and felt like they were in the right place to compete. Tonight wasn’t the cleanest match for either side — both teams battled through some tough play. Efficiency is everything in a district game, and it just wasn’t there. Bronson blocked us well, and while we made adjustments to try to get some runs going, we struggled to hold onto the ball. I am very proud of how far this team came. Back in the summer, we thought we’d have 10 or 11 girls, and then we had even fewer to work with. This group lived out a “next man up” mentality all season — they put in the work, played positions they’d never played, switched rotations, switched hitting positions, and kept going. We put 2026 up on the banner for a Co-Conference Championship. We won the Athens Tournament. We also learned a lot of lessons, made memories, and saw a lot of smiles this year — on and off the court. I’m thankful for my five seniors: Keturah Younts, Kaylee Griggs, Livia Jacobs, Rylee Mastny, and Nevaeh Prichard. Each of them brought something different in personality, skill, and leadership, and all of it helped this team grow into what it became. We are going to miss the Class of 2027. And thank you to our parents for your dedication all season. It’s much appreciated.
