Centreville's boys cross country team is headed to the MHSAA State Finals after placing 3rd out of 14 teams at Friday's Regional meet. The Bulldogs scored 82 points, behind Hanover-Horton (48) and Jonesville (54). Will Hulin led the way in 4th place in 15:53.5. Max Reed was 10th, Nick Overweg 15th, and Will Swanwick 19th with a personal-best 16:47.3. Corban Brueck was our fifth scorer in 43rd, also with a personal best (18:14.5). Landon Weis (49th) and Tanner Bingaman (50th) rounded out our top seven. The girls placed 6th of 10 teams with 169 points, with Jackson Lumen Christi (38) taking the team title. Addison Johnson led the Bulldogs in 24th in 21:41.5, followed by Emily Falkenstein, who ran a personal-best 21:45.1 in 27th. Norah Lammon (42nd), Hazel Sloat (44th) and Ella Wolff (53rd) completed the scoring five. Matilda Roberts ran a personal-best 23:33.9 in 54th — a week after coming within three seconds of her best at Gobles — and Katelyn Trattles finished 61st. Congratulations to all of our runners, and thank you to everyone who came out to support them.
