On a beautiful fall afternoon in Sturgis, Centreville's boys won the St. Joseph County Meet — the first time our high school team has brought home the county trophy in more than ten years. The boys scored 25 points, well clear of Three Rivers (41), Sturgis (79), White Pigeon (112), Constantine (137) and Colon (172). Will Hulin won the race in 16:32.4. Nick Overweg was 3rd, Max Reed 4th and Will Swanwick 5th, with Tanner Bingaman 12th, Corban Brueck 18th and Landon Weis 20th. All seven earned medals and all-county honors by finishing in the top 20. On a course that wasn't fast for anyone, Matthew Falkenstein had a standout race: he was the only Bulldog to run a personal best, crushing his previous mark with a 20:05. The girls placed 4th with 80 points, just two points behind Constantine (78) for third, with Sturgis (27) and Three Rivers (39) at the top. Four Bulldogs earned medals and all-county honors in the top 20: Emily Falkenstein led the team in 10th, followed by Addison Johnson 13th, Norah Lammon 18th and Hazel Sloat 19th. Katelyn Trattles was 24th, rounding out our scorers.
